About Our Organization

How It All Began…

In 1989, Jimmy and Phyllis Rotonno founded Our Father’s House Soup Kitchen with a simple but powerful mission: to serve individuals and families in need within the community.

What began as preparing and distributing 40–60 sandwich bags each day for people experiencing homelessness, along with delivering meals to local homebound residents, quickly grew into a larger community outreach effort driven by compassion and care.

Over the years, with the steadfast support of dedicated volunteers, generous donors, and local businesses, Our Father’s House Soup Kitchen has continued to grow into a trusted source of hope, nourishment, and dignity for those facing hardship.

Where We Are Today…

Today, Our Father’s House Soup Kitchen, also known as Our Father’s House Family Services, has grown into a full-service homeless support ministry in South Florida under the leadership of Katie Crissy, our dedicated CEO and Program Director.

Each day, we serve a hot, nutritious four-course meal to approximately 160–200 individuals in need, along with a bagged meal to take with them. Rain or shine, five days a week, we remain committed to providing consistent nourishment, dignity, and care to those facing hardship in our community.

But our mission goes far beyond serving meals. As a comprehensive South Florida soup kitchen and outreach program, we also provide:

  • A welcoming, safe, and respectful environment for all guests
  • A clothing boutique offering essential items such as jeans, sneakers, T-shirts, and more
  • Personal hygiene products to support daily well-being
  • Recycled bicycles to help with transportation needs
  • Access to a volunteer barber who provides haircuts that restore dignity and confidence

Your support helps make all of this possible. If you’d like to help strengthen our South Florida community, please visit our donations page to explore the many ways you can make a difference in the lives of those in need.
